Peter Robert Adams was born to Robert and Florence Adams on August 16, 1949 in Boston. A resident of Dorchester, Peter showed his love for our country when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 21, 1968. Lance Corporal (L/Cpl.) Adams proudly served with the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment until May 20, 1969, during Operation Pipestone Canyon, he set off a booby trap while setting up his M-60 and sustained multiple missile wounds. He died on May 31, 1969 aboard Naval hospital ship USS Repose. L/Cpl. Adams was awarded the Purple Heart for the heroism he demonstrated in his service to our country. Peter was survived by his parents.
