Anthony Joseph Parrino United States Navy 14 February 1923 – 9 September 1943 Anthony Joseph Parrino was born on February 14, 1943 in Charlestown MA. Anthony enlisted in the United States Navy on August 19, 1940 and began active duty that same month; Anthony served as Petty Officer Second Class upon USS Garayling. He was lost at sea in the South West Pacific, and was officially presumed dead on September 9, 1943. For his heroism displayed in service to our country, Anthony Parrino was awarded the Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. He is memorialized on the Tables of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. Anthony was survived by his parents Joseph and Camela Parrino.
