PHILIP FOLEY Army

Philip John Foley United States Army 17 July 1916 – 7 January 1945 Philip John Foley was born on July 17, 1916 in Somerville, and attended Boston’s English High School, graduating in 1933. Philip dutifully enlisted in the United States Army on April 13, 1942. Private First Class (Pfc.) honorably served as an Army Paratrooper with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, until he was reported missing in action and then killed in action in Belgium on January 7, 1945. PFC Foley was awarded The Purple Heart, The Silver Star and 3 Bronze Medals for the devotion and heroism he demonstrated while making the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Philip was survived by his mother, Helen F. Foley of Charlestown, MA.
