On Friday, April 23, 2010, the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND) led a Boston Shines clean up in the Hyde Jackson Square Main Street district along Centre Street in Jamaica Plain. In addition to sweeping, scraping, and picking up trash on streets and sidewalks throughout the district, staff from DND's Office of Business Development (OBD) dropped in on small businesses in the area. In this video, OBD Deputy Director, Rafael Carbonell, interviews bridal shop owner Patrica Valenzuela about her family's experience in the Hyde Jackson Square Main Street area and operating her business, Sonia's Bridal.
