“Drawing takes me to the depths of sub-consciousness and resurfacing with images which are often more abstract than the motifs that I choose to use. I found this way of art making exhilarating because it allows both foresight and unpredictability.”

Minding the Heart

  • Location: Scollay Square Gallery, 3rd floor (Directions)

  • Dates: July 11- August 15, 2016

Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture will host an a group exhibition  in the Scollay Square Gallery.

Minding the Heart is an expression of nature and nurture of Being, to live, experience, affect and be affected. The process of creating from within us through conscious and unconscious action and thought. Dreams guide the communication of atoms and energy within the “Weave of the Universe”. We create our work in the hope of finding and expressing resonant meaning through paintings, words, photography and sculpture.

There is no art without living and for being without the microscope of the mind, the understanding from the heart, and the embrace of the fire from the soul, for me, there is no life, only an existence.

Most of my art is, at least initially, serendipitous in construct. I'm inspired primarily by experiences and sometimes feel almost guided by the constructs I've perceived and create from them.

Whatever I'm traveling through, mentally, physically or spiritually, I seek to understand,  explore and strive to make sense of it. Often my work is representative in one form or another from that metaphysical dialogue. I don't write a diary, just at times find myself painting one.

Creating my art, is a spiritual catharsis for me. I strive to let free my woes, to celebrate my oneness, and embrace our collective consciousness.
