Getting Married at City Hall

What You Need to Know

  • You must have a Marriage License to be married at City Hall. To get a Marriage License, first apply for a Marriage Intention. After three (3) calendar days you can pick up the license at City Hall.

  • You can schedule a wedding ceremony by calling 617-635-2684 or 617-635-2690.

  • The City Clerk's Office hosts wedding ceremonies at City Hall in Room 601 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 - 11:15 a.m. and 2 - 3:15 p.m. Please remember, you need to get a Marriage License from the Registry Division before your ceremony.

  • Ceremonies take about 15 minutes.

  • The space for wedding ceremonies is small. We allow up to four (4) guests at a time. No witnesses are needed.

  • If you are late to your ceremony, we will charge you a $25 fee.

Fees

All fees are cash only.

  • Wedding Ceremony: $60.00

  • Service Fee: $15.00

  • Late Fee: $25.00 (if applicable)

Interpreters

Please make arrangements to bring someone with you to translate the wedding ceremony if needed.
