Taxpayer Referral and Assistance Center

The Assessing Department's Taxpayer Referral & Assistance Center - known as TRAC provides "one-stop" service to Boston taxpayers on tax related matters.

The TRAC office offers:

Information - including explanations of tax bills, abatements and exemption programs, change of mailing address forms, residential exemption information and applications, boat and motor vehicle excise tax, boat mooring permit information and general informational publications;

Assistance - including accepting personal and residential exemption applications, abating excise taxes, issuing duplicate tax bills and payment history, providing ward and parcel information;

Problem Solving - referral to "expert" assistance in either the Assessing Department or Collector's office, for the resolution of CURRENT fiscal year tax bill payments, personal property and real estate abatement processing.

The TRAC office is located on the mezzanine floor of City Hall in Room M-5, and is open weekdays, Monday through Friday, 9AM - 5PM.
