    Free Films in Boston Parks with Mayor Walsh's Movie Nights!

    Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s Movie Nights, part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s ParkARTS program, will give residents and visitors plenty of chances to enjoy popular films under the night skies in city parks in August and September.

    All shows begin at dusk (approximately 7:45 PM) and are sponsored by the Massachusetts Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program with media support by the Boston Herald, JAM’N 94.5, Kiss 108, and presented in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment.  Free popcorn will be provided by AMC Loews Theatres.

    Mayor Walsh's Garden Contest

    The Mayor's Garden Contest recognizes gardeners who have landscaped, planted flowers, trees, and shrubs, and, in the process, beautified their own small piece of Boston. Residents, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to nominate their own or a neighbor's garden. All garden types are welcome! Exciting Grand Prize provided by JetBlue.

    Parks Department Holds Citywide Open Space Plan Meetings

    The Boston Parks Department is holding a citywide series of public meetings from July 21 to August 14 to discuss the 2015 to 2021 Open Space Plan and the results of a survey questionnaire about park use and prefeirences.  With this information the Parks Department is developing a multi-year integrated plan for open space protection and development. Open space advocates, parents, caregivers, and all users of Boston’s parks are invited to attend these meetings!  Presentations from the meetings are available for viewing online at the link below by neighborhood and date.

    Get Healthy Outdoors with the Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series!

    The Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series offers a wide range of free activities being offered during June, July, and August. Activities include boot camp, line dancing, tai chi, yoga, Zumba, Zumba Gold. and salsa dancing.
